I have some exciting news to share…your very own SavoryGirl is on the Season Six opener of Check, Please! Bay Area on Thursday at 7:30pm on KQED!  5 other airing times as well…check below!

I have to admit I love being on camera, especially when talking about food!  The restaurants reviewed on the show are as follows…along with a slight teaser regarding what I thought about each one, but you’ll have to tune in to get the full scoop:

My restaurant on the show is Saha (Sutter @ Larkin in San Francisco) – of course I love this place and had all good things to say about it, fantastic Arabic Fusion food with an intimate ambience.  We’ve brought lots of friends here over the years!

Don Pico’s Mexican Bistro (San Bruno) – this one fell in the “pretty good Mexican food” category for me, but I’m spoiled having fantastic super affordable Mexican fare right down the street in the Mission

Lovejoy’s Tea Room (Church Street @ Clipper in San Francisco) – I have to be honest, I felt like I got screwed even having this as one of my 3 restaurants I had to review.  Really?  With all of the great restaurants in the Bay Area I have to go to a stupid tea room?  Enough said.

So please, please…tell your friends and family to tune in to any of the 6 airings listed below by sharing the link to this blog post, I would really appreciate it! Trust me, it’s a good show to keep your eye on if you’re a foodie in the Bay Area…nothing better than getting restaurant reviews on slightly off the beaten path places from your average Bay Area eater instead of professional critics.  Enjoy and let me know what you think after it airs…but be kind they did my makeup and there was no editing at all, totally live to tape!  I hope I’m not a total fool after all of that wine they fed us in the green room :)

Every week, Check, Please! Bay Area features three guests who are local diners, not professional restaurant critics. Each guest chooses their favorite restaurant and the other two guests visit that restaurant under total anonymity — the restaurants are not notified that Check, Please! “reviewers” are dining there. After trying each others restaurant recommendations, the guests come on the show to discuss, dispute, and celebrate their dining experiences. The panel of diners is moderated by host Leslie Sbrocco, an award-winning author, wine connoisseur, newspaper columnist, and speaker. At the end of the show, each restaurant is rated based on the panelists’ comments.
